Job and Person Specifications / Duty Statements
At Aktis we work with stakeholders, analysing the characteristics, complexities, skills and attributes of positions. To determine the responsibilities and competencies that the organisation requires from a position, interviews are undertaken with stakeholders and aligned with business plans to determine the expectations of a position. This information is then composed in an outcomes focused framework or competency based job and person specification/duty statement, to accurately reflect the position and meet legislative, and organisational requirements. This methodology ensures the recognition of position competency requirements, which is distinct from the qualities that an individual can bring to a role.

Classification Assessment
We ensure objectivity and consistency when undertaking work value assessments. This is achieved through the completion of interviews with incumbents, and the position’s manager, to collect a range of information for a detailed evaluation of the position’s accountabilities, skills and knowledge. Assessments also take into account the functions and responsibilities of the positions above and below the role being reviewed, as well as the contribution the position makes to an organisations objectives and the context of the environment in which the position operates. The position is primarily assessed against specified Awards or Public Sector Position Classification Criteria including Administrative, Professional, Operational, Technical and Executive (SAES) definitions. If requested, whole-of-job comparisons can be undertaken against other existing positions within a department and/or industry/sector.

Recruitment and Selection Services
Recruitment and selection services that we are able to provide include the facilitation of, or contribution to, Departmental recruitment panels, providing independence in candidate assessment and/or recruitment administration services. These services include; acknowledging and short listing applications, scheduling interviews in consultation with panel members, developing interview questions, conducting referee checks, writing selection reports based on a department’s prescribed human resource templates and advising, and providing feedback to, unsuccessful applicants.

Our services are provided when clients request assistance with their recruitment process or participation as a panel member on the recruitment panel. We provide discreet and independent guidance on the recruitment process based on Merit Based principles, as outlined in the Public Sector Act, and relevant departmental HR policies and Office of Public Employment guidelines.
